Find Your Pole Goals

A Quick Self-Assessment

Not sure what you really want from pole dance? That's okay. Most people don't. This short quiz will help you get clear on what matters to you right now. Answer each question honestly. There are no wrong answers. Your goals can change over time, and that's fine too.

1. How often do you want to train (or realistically can train)?

Think about your schedule, energy, and other commitments. Be honest, not aspirational.

Pick one:
Once a week or less – I want to move, have fun, and not stress about progress.
1–2 times a week – I want to see slow but steady improvement without burning out.
2–3 times a week – I am ready to build strength and skills consistently.
4+ times a week – Pole is a major priority for me. I want to advance as quickly as my body allows.

2. What do you enjoy most about pole dance?

Think about the moments you've already loved. Or if you're new, what draws you in?

Pick your top two:

3. Why do you enjoy it?

This digs a little deeper. Your "why" will guide your goals.

Pick one that fits best:
Because it makes me feel proud of myself – I like seeing progress, even small wins.
Because it's fun and I forget everything else – I just want to enjoy the process.
Because I want to get genuinely good at something – I am driven to improve.
Because it's the only workout I actually stick with – I need it to stay active.
Because it makes me feel beautiful or powerful – I love how pole changes how I feel about my body.
Because my friends do it and I love the community – Pole is my social time.

4. What do you think you're really good at?

Be honest about your strengths. This helps you build confidence and also shows you what you might want to lean into.

Examples:

5. What do you not enjoy at all?

This is just as important. Knowing what you dislike helps you avoid forcing yourself into styles or moves that kill your joy. There is no shame in skipping things you hate.

Examples:

6. When you imagine your pole future, what excites you most?

Pick one:
Learning a new trick or spin every few weeks – I love the small victories.
Putting together a full routine that feels like me – I want to create, not just repeat.
Being able to invert and climb easily – I want the strength and skill.
Performing in a student showcase – I want an audience.
Just maintaining my practice for years because it makes me happy – I'm here for the long, joyful ride.
Teaching or helping others someday – I want to give back.

7. How do you feel when you struggle with a move?

Pick one:
Frustrated, but I keep trying because I know I'll get it eventually.
I move on and try something else. I don't need every move.
I ask for help right away. I want to figure it out.
I get discouraged easily and need breaks.
I don't mind. Struggle is part of it for me.
